First and foremost, I need to lay out some disclosure. I think it's pretty obvious I loves me so Glee. I blog about it enough. I'm also a long time Madonna fan. I know, stereotypical of me, but I have enjoyed (most) of her music for, well, decades. Yes, it hurt to admit that, but only because it makes me sound old.
You can imagine my jubilation when they mashed the two together into a Madonna themed Glee episode. Madge-ical? Absolutely! Did I love it? Of course! I've already watched it a few times since I downloaded it from iTunes. (P to the S... it looks smokin' hot on my shiny new iPad.)
What I find interesting is all of the hate spewing from Glee viewers because of the Like a Virgin sequence. (I admit to trolling the comments section on websites. It's a shameful addiction.) Some people felt it was overtly sexual and inappropriate for children to watch. Ok, stop the train for a moment. Who thinks that this is a kid's show? Really? It's on at 9pm for a reason people. High school setting does not equal children's show. It was pretty obvious to me from the get go this was not a show meant for a child's consumption.
I know this is an age old argument, but if this same show had people blowing each other up, there would not be really any complaints. It would be business as usual.
