Iron Man 2: Movie Review

I have really struggled with writing a review for this movie.  Not for lack of words, I have plenty of those, but I wasn't really sure how I felt about it.  It really all boils down to this.  It was exactly what I expected, and it disappointed me.

Let me explain.  The first movie was totally beyond my expectations.  It, in a word, wowed me.  I guess I was hoping to recapture that experience when watching the second movie.  No. Go.

RD Jr was still pretty much amazing in the titular role, and the rest of the cast did a great job.  In fact, Terrance Howard's voice really bugged me, so replacing him with Don Cheadle was a bit of a bonus.  But that was not enough to raise the proverbial bar.

Don't get me wrong, this was a visually stunning eye candy of a movie worth seeing on the big screen, but it was not the visual orgasm that I wanted to kick off summer movie season.  But, after looking over the roster of movies coming our way, I can't expect a whole lot.  It's going to be a very movie free summer for Brian.
